“Arnau” national dance evening organized by the Ballet and National Dance Development and Support Fund together with the “Astana Ballet” Theater was held in Astana.
Two evenings in a row — November 30 and December 1 — the “Astana Ballet” group showed their skills on stage. The program included best choreographic miniatures and extracts from the theater performances — “Zhusan”, “Arular Sherui”, “Ozarenie” (“Insight”), “Nur shashu”, “Asem konyr” and many others.
The organizers prepared another surprise for the guests: photo exhibition dedicated to the history of the national dance development. It included unique photos of Kazakh dancers of the 1930-90s. Each name is a separate page in the history of the choreography of Kazakhstan: Nursulu Talapova, Kamysh Karabalinova, Rakul Tazhiieva, Zainab Rozmukhamedova, Roza Alzhanova, Roza Eslyamgaliieva, Gulzhan Talpakova, Toigan Izim, Firuza Zhulimbetova, Larisa Mazhikeeva, Gainikamal Beisenova, Aigul Tati, Gulnara Pshenbaeva and others. The brightest dancer of the 20th century and the founder of the national dance, Shara Zhienkulovain, was in the spotlight, of course.
The photo exhibition was managed by the unparalleled Anvara Sadykova — a well-known teacher-choreographer in Kazakhstan.
